Today I sent a big chunk of cash to the yurt company to begin production on our house. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to embark on this project. We’ve been saving for a long time.
The kit will be delivered by May 30. We should begin assembly around June 13. Josh has mentioned to a few of you that we will need help during the assembly process. If you can help for a couple days we would be thrilled to have you and can offer to let you use the place after it’s complete. We can also put you up in a hotel or have you camp on our property with us during the build. I’ll put out a more specific call for assistance in the near future.
Now we wait for the permits to come through before the foundation work can begin.
In the meantime figure out the logistics and get ready to build! Buy a trailer with a water tank on it. Find a plumber, and someone to blow insulation into our ceiling. Locate a place to rent a fork lift so we can unload the kit off the semi. We’ll need a boom truck too for a day to lift the center ring skylight into place. We’ll need to buy a generator.
During this process my family and dogs will be camping on our property. (Anyone want to take two adorable bulldogs off our hands for two weeks?) We need to plan the camping trip and all the supplies we’ll need to sustain us. I’m not an expert camper, it actually makes me a bit anxious! Through all of this Josh will need to keep up with his school work, so I’ll need to get wifi through our cell carrier.
Thanks for reading.

You know we would love to come and camp out and help out!!
