The first door is the one we finished and installed last week. The second is the door at the house we currently live in. On it hangs an Easter wreath lamely decorated for the 4th of July. Having the first door with its lock and key means that it’s now time to settle back in behind and update the second. Let the fall colors commence.
We all went down together to work on the new door. We sanded away the water stains, then sanded it smooth with fine grained paper before applying the stain. Then poly and more sanding and more poly before we hung it back up to the frame.
We also had Icynene spray foam insulation applied to the underside of the roof (hauntingly similar in name to Vonnegut’s Ice-Nine), spread many tons of gravel, neatly stacked all our scrap wood, took down the work tent, moved the RV onto the only unoccupied flat spot on the property, cleaned up and finally rebuilt the scaffolding so we can continue working on the ceiling.
Here’s a video of our progress from this week.
