Prepping to Pour the Floor

We are getting really close to being able to pour the floor.  Here’s where we are.

On June 4 & 5 Josh worked with Jeff of Jeff’s Plumbing in Walsenburg to dig and lay out the underground pipes.  It’s a compact maze of pipes.

On June 10 and 11 Josh worked with Barry to bury the plumbing, level the site with gravel, lay in the radon barrier sheeting and foam insulation.

Over the foam insulation was laid a wire grid to which the hydronic tubes would be attached.  That wire was extremely sharp and not fun to work with.

And then the pex tubing was attached to the grid with 3.4 million zip ties.  Pressure gauge holding at 100 PSI.

Next step is to get the rebar in place over the tubing.  This job belongs to Barry, hopefully I’ll get some pictures of that before the floor is poured.

The wildflowers keep blooming throughout all this work.
